Quick Overview
With a rich red background, this colorful cradleboard by husband and wife artist team Charles & Hazel Fast Horse, features traditional Lakota beadwork designs in hues of yellow, blue, and black.
Description
The hood of the beaded cradle body is covered with a large yellow and blue geometric design; at the sides, a “filled up” or tripe design and a vertebrae pattern are used. The wooden slats are decorated with large brass tacks.

The beadwork is done using Czech glass beads. Dangles of abalone discs, dyed red bone hair pipe, and cowrie shells hang from the wooden slats and sides of the cradle body.

It is made of bleached buffalo leather; the structure and slats are hardwood. The front is secured with leather lacing.
