Quick Overview
Skull crackers were elegant weapons. Due to their small size and movable stone head, as illustrated by this skull cracker by Non-Native artist Dan Chapman, the warrior could wield the weapon with tremendous force against an enemy.
Description
The top end of weapon is painted red and features a leather encased river stone. The main portion of the leather covered handle shows its natural color and has been rubbed with an aging compound to give it a rustic feel. The lower end of the handle exposes the bare wood to show a checkerboard design that has been carved into the bark.

The handle is made of willow and is wrapped in cow hide. Additional accents include wrapped beadwork, a long horse hair drop off the handle, and a twisted leather wrist strap painted with red acrylic.
