Axes

These decorative war axes are hand-made by by both Native and Non-Native American artists. Using beadwork, geometric designs, leather, and years of experience, these artists have created striking pieces using traditional techniques.

Used as domestic tools, or weapons, axes had a variety of uses that carved part of Native American culture and way of life.

Comprised of a metal arrowhead attached to a wooden handle, these decorative axes are representations of the tomahawks once used by the American Indian people throughout history.
