The accomplishments, deeds, beliefs and spirituality of an individual Lakota was expressed through adornment of their personal belongings and themselves, utilizing natural and supernatural images.
Through the development of his own artistic style, Paul expresses Lakota culture and religion with unique symbolism. Although the designs come from the Northern Plains, the Southwest metalsmiths have influenced his technique.
Paul was born on the Rosebud Reservation of South Dakota. He is of Lakota, Hungarian, Polish and French descent. Paul is an enrolled member of the Rosebud Lakota/Sioux Tribe.
