This mini shield depicts an Elk Dreamer, one who saw elk in his vision and thereby gained the power of elk medicine.
Paha Sapa, the sacred Black Hills of South Dakota, are pictured in the background.
These little shields are constructed from split deer hide and hand painted with acrylic paint.
