The male lazuli bunting is a very elusive bird to spot since he is usually perched high in the treetops. In the acrylic gouache painting, ‘Menominee,’ two bright blue male birds are depicted nestled within a bundle of tree sprigs that seem to be spilling out of a beautifully beaded bag from the Menominee tribe.
