Quick Overview
A fitting use of native symbolism, this highly regarded, lethal weapon features the distinctive Kapemni design to represent the direct relationship between the spiritual and physical world.
Description
The the wooden shaft of the lance is wrapped in buffalo hide and beaded using the lane/lazy stitch technique. Suspended from the shaft, a leather drop is also decorated using the lane/lazy stitch technique. The beadwork features a light turquoise background and vibrant Kapemni designs in yellow and blue with orange and red used as accenting colors.

Buffalo fur is added to either end of the shaft - the hair is shortened and worn at the tip and long and wooly at the end. Dangles of red tradecloth, horse hair, imitation eagle feathers, and bead strands hang from the bottom edge of the drop and also the ends of the shaft.

The lance tip is made of cold forged cast iron. The wooden shaft is burnished Douglas Fir.
