Quick Overview
Hills on the prairie have always held a special meaning for the Plains Indians. These hills were seen as extraordinary spaces - they were used for vision quests and they also acted as a dwelling place for spirits.
Description
This knife and sheath set by artist Evans Flammond Sr. of the Rosebud Lakota Sioux Tribe embraces the special nature of the hills using a simple, very traditional design on this knife and sheath set.

The knife features an elk antler handle with an aged cast iron blade; the handle includes a carved “hills” design.

The sheath is made of rawhide and painted with a similar “hills” design to match the handle.
