Quick Overview
Northern Plains artist Jim Little Wounded has painted a beautiful Horse Dance scene on this cottonwood drum. The scene is of warriors who are honoring their gallant steeds as a Nation, giving thanks for all they do for the Lakota Oyate.
Description
Jim carefully paints, with acrylic paints, under the rawhide lacings and the drum covers on top and bottom. Each warrior is individual and they have a horse dance stick in their hand.

Jim has adorned the drum with leather dangles, glass beads, tin cones, red wool cloth and imitation feathers. He has also added a miniature shield with a buffalo image painted on it. The shield is adorned with glass beads and miniature imitation feathers.

The piece is signed by the artist.
