Quick Overview
Inspired by a ledger drawing, artist James Little Wounded adorns this hand drum with a ledger style image of a Lakota warrior on horseback attacking an enemy.
Description
The center of the drum is painted with this battle scene set against a golden yellow background. The parameter of the drum is embellished with wooden prongs decorated with wrapped beadwork, dangles of red dyed horse hair, imitation eagle feathers, leather laces, and a beaded amulet to represent the enemy.

The drum is made of rawhide stretched across a wooden rim. It is painted with commercial paints, dyes and stains.

The piece is signed by the artist.
