Description
This shield is constructed with a willow branch formed into a hoop with leather stretched over the frame. American Indian artist Dawn Yellow Bank then beaded a four direction symbol over the entire face of the shield and incorporates the Morning Star design into the lane/lazy stitch beadwork.
Also, on the front of the shield are four medicine bags and imitation eagle feathers. Dawn then also adds red trade cloth over the top of the shield and decorates it with imitation golden eagle feathers. As a final touch, this shield is aged to look as authentically old as possible.
