Quick Overview
Plains Indians cherished the arrival of spring. The first soaking rain was especially welcomed, it was considered to be a great cleanser of the earth.
Description
According to Native American legend, the raven was a bird of great wisdom, and had the ability to talk to people. The raven could predict events and recommend courses of action. Swallows, with their characteristic acrobatic flying agility, symbolized safety and would appear when the rainstorm had passed.

Used in ceremonies to honor rain, this Native American inspired artifact reproduction has a hand-forged head attached with rawhide lacing.

The axe is decorated with imitation black raven feathers, blue trade cloth, a buffalo hair wrap, and brass bells.
