Bonnie Halsey-Dutton
“I am a serious painter, having made this my life’s commitment. The major focus of my painting revolves around human relationships. I explore relationships between people and reflect their connection to various surroundings. I incorporate pattern and texture in my work, often utilizing wallpaper or fabric patterns to symbolize the ‘domestic stage’ that life is lived out on.” <
“Often my interpretations are influenced by the passage of time and how things change, as well as how they do not. I indulge in my own version of photo analysis, interpreting images and ideas from the past. My paintings are rendered in a variety of mediums and in all sizes. The surfaces of my works are often distressed to further convey the concept of time passage.”
“I categorize myself as a Symbolic Realist painter, as my work incorporates universal and personal symbols in a representational manner. My images are personal to my experiences, yet understood and appreciated by a host of different backgrounds and cultures. I am pleased that my art is in public and private collections nationwide.”
