Description
In the decoration of this piece, Kevin utilizes the lane/lazy stitch beadwork technique and uses the rare caramel colored Italian Morrasi (white-heart) bead as the background for the piece.
In the center of the design, Kevin beads a blue elk which represents strong medicine (power) and protection with a life line in the center. He also beads traditional Lakota geometric designs representing the Great Sioux Nation around the center and elk hoof prints representing the spirit of the elk.
In a finishing touch, Kevin adds two imitation golden eagle feathers hanging from the nasal cavity.
This beaded elk skull with mask will make a fine addition to any Lakota Sioux Indian wall art collection.
