Quick Overview
Horsemen carried a short-handled riding whip with a lash of braided rawhide, otherwise known as a "quirt".
Description
These quirts were often made of elk antlers and were used to drive the warrior's horse, "count coup", or touch an enemy in battle before his fellow riders.

This artifact reproduction of a quirt handle is made of elk antler. It has been etched with an Elk Medicine symbol and includes a braided whip on one end, with a fringed wrist strap on the other.

Sizes will vary since antlers come in all different sizes.
