Description
The unusual handle of this Native American inspired artifact is thought to have been from a broken wagon wheel.
The beadwork on the tomahawk's redwood handle shows a changing pattern of colors, indicating that the availability of specific beads may have varied during its making.
The axe is also decorated with a myriad of items - badger claw, coyote fang, buffalo tooth, deer dew claws, imitation eagle feather fragments, bone hair pipe, glass beads, trade beads, tin cones, thimble, leather fringe and a wrist strap.
