Description
In the colored pencil and ink drawing, ‘Colors of Brotherhood,’ four buffaloes are painted in the colors of the sacred Four Directions; black, white, red, and yellow. In their worship the Sioux Indians are very attentive to each direction; north, south, east, and west. When praying with the Sacred Pipe they face each direction, starting with the west.
