Quick Overview
Minneconjou Lakota artist Jim Little Wounded carves the spirit of a Bear to help bring the strength of the Bear to this warrior.
Description
Bears have many qualities that a warrior would want. They are powerful, smart and territorial. They know what kinds of grasses to eat when they are sick and what kinds of mud to lay in when they are injured. They can also be stealthy, hunters have reported Bears circling around behind them and actually hunting the hunter.

Carved from cottonwood, this dance stick is painted with commercial paints, dyes and stains. The stick is also decorated with glass beads, tin cones, deer dew hooves, buffalo fur, dyed feather fluffs and red wool cloth. There are 2 badger claws for fangs in the Bear's mouth.
