Description
The bison is revered in the Plains Indian culture as a provider of food, shelter, and clothing. Patty Eckman has recreated the majestic animal in paper and mounted it in a protective acrylic casing. The buffalo gazes out curiously at the viewer. The soft texture of the animal’s fur is achieved through a technique that involves scraping the fibrous handmade paper with a razorblade; its fine detail is overwhelming.
