Description
Lakota Sioux Indian artist Jim Little Wounded has hand carved this tree branch into a buffalo dance stick using traditional techniques.
In the decoration of this piece, the tongue extends from the mouth of the buffalo, representing the buffalo’s medicine or power. Designs are painted onto the hump of the carving to symbolize the shagginess of the wool.
In a finishing touch, he adds spirit spots on the rear half of the buffalo representing super natural helpers and a beaded buffalo amulet.
This buffalo dance stick will make a fine addition to any Sioux Indian art collection.
