Quick Overview
This exquisite bag is done using the lazy/lane stitch beading technique on brain-tanned white deer leather.
Description
Lakota artist Dorthy Little Elk uses multiple shades of orange, yellow, green and purple glass beads to create a bird design against a white beaded background.

The spine of the bag is beaded along with short fringe and is finished off with a whipstitch of beads around the top.

The back of the bag features a compass rose design that Dorthy's grandmother found on an old map. The multi-pointed star incorporates turquoise, red and purple beads against a white background.

The artist's signature is just inside the opening of the bag.
