Quick Overview
The Pipe was given to the Lakota by the White Buffalo Calf Woman. She instructed them to use it as a medium for prayer.
Description
The Animal Pipe has a carved ram, elk, turtle, and buffalo on its stem - these are animals which can be found in Paha Sapa, the Black Hills of South Dakota.

The animals all face toward the mouth piece of the pipe, strengthening the spiritual connection between them and the smoker.

The stem is made of cedar and the bowl is a Plains T-shaped type carved from stone originating from the Pipestone Indian Shrine in Minnesota.
